Aboriginal Perspectives In The Visual Arts

This session is aimed at educators seeking to incorporate Aboriginal perspectives and content in a way that honours the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples. The work of contemporary Indigenous artists will be presented, as well as protocols and issues of cultural appropriation. We will show how the First Peoples Principles of Learning have been embedded into the new curriculum to help educators make direct connections to them as part of their ongoing practice, and we will share resources and sample lessons to assist educators in their journey.
