Learning Assistance: What Is It All About

This workshop will include a variety of hands-on, visual and auditory activities. Participants will receive resource handouts, review important documents and learn about the various roles and responsibilities of a Learning Assistance Teacher (LAT), including ELL/ESL, collaboration with classroom teachers, ways to support students, etc.  Participants will walk away with a better understanding of the Special Education Policy Manual  and a collection of practical resources and ideas that they can bring back to their role—whatever that may be—and apply immediately. Best suited for early career teachers and teachers who are newly assigned to the LAT role.
