In this workshop, participants will learn how children and youth grieve differently than adults. They will understand how developmental stages influence grief and how a student’s grief might be complicated by family dynamics. The workshop will also identify how loss and grief impact learning and distinguish how different death situations impact grief. Participants will explore the importance of symbols and rituals in supporting grieving children and teens. They will take away ideas and activities that can help support grieving students at school.
