What Being A Gamer Has Taught Me As An Online Educator

I have been a gamer longer than I have been an online teacher. When I took an online course about gamification, that's when the two worlds really merged. Gamification isn't a new thing anymore. Many big companies incorporate it in staff and customer management. In this session I want to look at some game mechanics I incorporated into my online courses to make them more fun and engaging, from my own perspective as a veteran gamer. I am also hoping to have some experienced gamifiers in the audience to share ideas, create new ideas, and take online learning in BC further. This session isn't about playing games, but about ideas we can use from games to apply to education.
