Supporting Your Students And Your Entrepreneurship, Marketing And E-commerce Courses
Could your business course be the solution to your students’ growing malaise towards their future? According to the 2015 BC Satisfaction Survey, only 24% of Grade 12 students feel ready for a job, and likewise, only 40% feel ready for post-secondary. By bringing guest speakers and mentors into the classroom, and through applied design projects, YELL Canada has been able to increase this to 80% and higher. YELL is a charity that supports local business classes, and this year alone, enrolment in its programs grew 200%. What has led to this success? YELL’s Executive Director, David Cameron, will share lessons learned in the classroom, give tips on inviting guest speakers into your classroom, and share various ideas. The workshop will also include a Q&A with student alumni. This workshop is great for teachers interested in exploring ideas on how to meet the new requirements for entrepreneurship, marketing, and e-commerce courses.
