Exploring Northwest Coast Aboriginal Culture

Remarkably, the sophisticated culture of early First Nation peoples developed on this coast even before the pharaohs of Egypt built their pyramids! This workshop explores indigenous technology for harvesting the bounty of the sea and the giant cedar, as well as their complex ceremonial and artistic life. It examines regional distinctions and looks at how this strong cultural heritage still impacts life on the Northwest Coast today.
